Lunch and other strange requests [Jul. 21st, 2005|03:46 pm]

I was sitting outside eating my lunch today--a sub from Valerio's--when Dana (my boss) came around the side of the building on his way to talk to the guy looking at our well. We had the following exchange:

Dana: "Valerio's again?"
Me: "it's the leftovers from yesterday."
Dana: *looking at sandwich* "What's in that?"
Me: "It's a vegetarian sub."
Dana: "Did you have to call ahead or can you just go in there?"
Me: "I usually call ahead. It takes about 15 minutes by the time they run it through the oven."
*Pause*
Dana: "What time is it?"
Me: "1:15"
Dana: *Exclaims over the fact that it's really 1:15*
Me: *wonders if there is a point to this conversation and if so what it is*
Dana: When you're finished with your lunch can you get me one of those?"

After lunch I was calling groceries stores and Wal-mart looking for any 5 gallon buckets these places might be getting rid of. Luckily I was able to find 7 of these on the second call. I'm not quite sure they are to used for--waste disposal I believe--but I have procured the buckets so my job--for the moment at least--is completed.

Other news:

Everything is changing and I don't like it much! I realize that many of these changes are necessary for some reason or another. As my very wise friend pointed out recently all these changes can be very exciting and very difficult at the same time.

Kimber is in Baltimore right now moving in the first round of stuff :(

Telemarketing training started this week. It continues next week.

I am not excited about telemarketing, but need extra money and a set schedule of which this job provides both.

Kimber is moving the first week of August :(

I am helping with the move.

I'm also desparately hoping that I don't get ridiculously lost driving in Baltimore either during the move or any visit I make.

I won't get to visit Kimber much because I work weekends and he works during the week.

I am moving back home for awhile. So no rent or utilities but there will be chores and lots of mom and dad. Not so sure about the trade off on that one.

My mom recently claimed to know nothing about this. I'm sure I told her (Kimber was even there) I suppose it could have been my dad I talked to....but I don't think so. My brother points out that these things tend to happen because my mom sometimes says "mmhmm, mmhhmm" and otherwise acts like she is paying attention even when she is not.

The packing has commenced. This is to be followed by the cleaning.

Kimber has a ridonkulous amount of a)comic books b) star wars stuff c)fishing and camping stuff

I miss Kimber! Even though I wouldn't be seeing him much anyway since I am working at both places today.

Kimber isn't that happy that I started a second job before he left. I can see his point, but I'd like to make two points of my own 1) most employers (even telemarketing firms) aren't likely to hire you when tell them you can't start until a month after your hiring interview. 2)I make just enough to cover my bills at the garden...there is about $10 leftover at the end of every paycheck and that's not enough to live on.

Have to get going!

Thursday love to all!

Awww - poor Kim. Working two jobs, with no Kimber to come home to for awhile! *hugs* If you need moral support let me know - all us girls should have a girls night out sometime. :-)

We definately should! After the move I'll be free on Sunday evenings, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Late night Saturdays (after 10pm) are good too. Hope you are having a great trip!
